Charles Wilfred Spooner - Great Whyte, Ramsey
« on: Friday 24 February 12 17:35 GMT (UK) »
Researching my husbands family from Littleport and Ramsey. His grandfather, Charles Spooner, kept a grocery shop in the Great Whyte, Ramsey until his death in 1946 aged 50. We have no photos of Charles or his shop, and would love to hear from anyone who has any information or pictures. It's easy to go back to Victorian times with the family history, but recent things seem so hard. Many thanks for any help!

As Ramsey was in Hunts you might stand more chance of success by posting on the Hunts board.

If you can trace the actual location of the shop, it may be possible that it's still there, because about 10 of the buildings in Great Whyte are listed buildings.

RIP 1949-10th January 2013

Best Wishes,  Nick.
