trealaw cemetery lookup pleae
« on: Sunday 26 February 12 20:07 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for 2 seperate burials, can anyone tell me if they were buried in Trealaw.
First Mary Thomas buried 21 jan 1931 aged 88. she died in Cardiff but her husband was buried here in 1904, so it is possible that she is as well.
secondly.
James Godwin or Goodwin who died in a collery accident in 1910 ,aged 19. He came from Bristol but was lodging in Cemetary Road at the time of his death in Wattstown Collery,
Thank you.

thank you for looking.
I think I will try over the border now in Monmouthshire as she had linkes to Bedwelty as well.Goodwin was probably buried back in Bristol, so I will try again to find him there.
Thanks again
Jane

Hi Janeeidden,

I can not find any of your people in Trealaw or a Death for James Godwin/Goodwin.

On searching about I found a Gilbert Godwin b. 1892 Barton Regis Gloucestershire.
Died 1910 1q in Pontypridd age 19 could this possibly be yours ??

Regards

Brian

Hi Brian.
Thanks for the information.I have double checked my records and the Godwin who died in the accident was Gilbert .I  got muddled with the  names.
This is the right  relative. Is there any other information about him, for example a plot number so that I can see if there is a head stone.
Family history is strange. Gilbert ,my husbands Great Uncle is buried in the same cemetery as my gggrandfather.!
Thank you
Jane

Hi Jane,

I found the information on him but not where he is buried. He may as you have stated been taken back to Bristol. I only know I can not find him in Trealaw Cemetery.

Regards

Brian
