I found John Jackson, Olive and son John in Hammerbank in 1841.  Hammerbank is/was part of Quarry Bank Kingswinford and just across the River Stour from Cradley Worcs, and within a stone's throw of Park Lane Chapel, I would think Olive is the ancestor you are looking for, not a common name in 1816.

Thank you Willow, Linell and Lisa Lisa, a lot of interesting stuff and a lot to work out! Will have a look at the censuses and see if I can make head or tail.

I see you put Albert 19 Dumb (son of Joseph), Olive and John's son John was deaf and dumb, perhaps hereditary?

Ok, I've had a think  ???

It is definitely my Olive Pearson with parents James and Sarah, they had Olive 1913, Sarah 1813 (not twins though) and William 1815.

My guess is that Sarah died (seems possible from records) and that James remarried Ann.

Possibly this.

James Pearson
England Marriages, 1538–1973
marriage:   24 May 1818   Old Swinford,Worcester,England
spouse:   Ann Shaw
groom's name:   James Pearson
bride's name:   Ann Shaw
marriage date:   24 May 1818
marriage place:   Old Swinford,Worcester,England
indexing project (batch) number:   M04027-1
system origin:   England-ODM
source film number:   533996

If anyone can prove if he is a widower when he marries Ann that would seal it, I think.

Can anyone help?  :)

I'm betting that the Mary Marsh with them on the 1841 census is Sarahs mother

Scrap that there is a marriage of James Pearson widower to Ann Marsh 19.5.1823 at Sedgley Staffordshire

Will have a look at the marriage entry when I go to Dudley Archives, but I can tell you that there were a lot of Shaws in the Quarry Bank Kingswinford area, some of my Ancestors in Cradley Married Shaws, so sounds possible.  Linell.

Not sure if those posts crossed?

It looks to me like he was a widower and married Ann Marsh, however their eldest child James was born in 1820 they didn't marry until 1823 (if all ties together).

Doesn't surprise me though, only Ann Pearson mentioned as a parent on James' IGI (he is James Noah and Noah used elsewhere as well so think connection correct).

How far away is Sedgeley? Maybe they went there to marry in secret!

Too many co-incidences I think...although if Ann Shaw marries a widower then I may change my mind.
