Help finding William Ansell

well you know his regt - should be details at UK National Records Office - nice to see my guess confirmed !
There is a sarah cunningham in Peel (waitress at hotel) but states married  + born Rushen - no Arthur Cunningham on Island

All i know is the 69th regt do you know what the full title would be.
I can only find Sarah on the 1881 census she remarried a spencer pryer, who was also a soldier in 1871 in chatham kent. She died in 1889. it says on the 1881 census she was born in Ireland so i will have to follow that, i think

yes the 69th Regt of Foot I think - you search on his name but you may like to find the history of the 69th (these regts were merged in 19th C then reorganised in 20th) and locate the regimental museum who usually have the places their component regts were stationed.
Best luck with Irish records - a rather large explosion in 1922 destroyed the Dublin records office!
Is Wm not on any earlier census ?

Thanks for all your help. I have checked for William in earlier census records but i dont know his age or where he was from only his fathers name, but i will look again
