Am still searching for the parents plus birth and death details  of Jean/Jane Anderson. Ancestry.co.uk has b1806, d 1837 both at Forfar but as so often no original source given.

What is the last census you have either of them on?

If they died pre-1855 their death entries will not have their parents names.  Given that both surnames are very common, you may have problems

When did he marry Rebecca?  Looking at the age of their eldest child suggests Jane did die in 1837 or thereabouts

Have you looked for a death for her on SP?

The chances are that Ancestry has (mis)calculated her DoB by assuming that she was aged 21 when she married, and 1837 is probably based on the assumed date of Robert's remarriage.

She was (obviously) alive in 1835 and dead by 1838.

Do the baptism records of Jane/Jean's children name any witnesses?

I think I recall seeing, decades ago, a record of burials in Forfar parish kirkyard that was kept in the burgh offices in Forfar, and I think there was a transcription of it in Forfar Library. Why not try asking Angus Archives https://www.angus.gov.uk/angus_archives ?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

You need to look closely at the original of that census. Both FreeCEN and FindMyPast transcribe a long list that looks like several households, and Robert's age is transcribed as 3. So there is obviously an error somewhere.

Where was your James b 1828 in 1841? And, for that matter, Isobel, Mary and Alexander?
