Hi tinhat, I got the name Albert from his army records after he died. I did not know much about his life before he moved to Southampton. I hope your mum is well, sounds like she is my half sister. There are 6 of us here in Southampton. Sorry that I am a bit slow on a computer.

I had followed up the 'Sandwell Harris' as i thought the date of birth was August and not the very end of July. I think my family had always assumed [obviously wrongly!!!) that he had not moved too far away from his birthplace. Thank you for your information.

just wondered how many of his children are still alive from his first marriage? Hope you do not mind me asking as I know very little from his early years. The older generation were more secretive.

All four of them are still alive, certainly don't mind you asking. The 2 daughters were born after the war, hence them not being on the war records. I take it from your message that you are one of 6?. My mum assumed he had other children after her parents separated. Hope you are all well too?
