Death Index, William Wilson, Burnaby, British Columbia "COMPLETED" WITH THANKS

Has anyone got any ideas on how to find info on a person listed in a death index without getting the death cert? I've found a William Henry Wilson listed in the British Columbia death index for Burnaby (d. 19 August 1972), b. 1893. Because his name is so common I'm reluctant to purchase the death cert as the chances of it actually being my person are very small so am wondering if there are any other ways I could find clues on who this person was eg) voter lists, newspaper etc. The name and birth year are a match but no place of birth is listed (mine is English). My search is a needle in a haystack due to the name but think it worth following up on any likely matches. If I'm ever lucky enough to find a match with additional correct details, then I'll get the cert.

Try looking on Family Search. The BC deaths on there seem to include more info.

Thanks Maureen, why didn't I think of that, my brain  must be scrambling. Anyway, I've had a look and you are quite right.  I found the death but he isn't my man, he wasn't born in England. I'll remember to check family search from now on, thankyou very much for replying.
