Lookinf for any info on Robert Blakeston - he had a daughter Mary born c 1835 who married Archibald Bruce in Mar 1856 in Stockton on Tees. His profession on the cert. is a clerk. I can't find him anywhere! Any info appreciated

Mary moved to Carnbee in Fife Scotland where Archibald was from and on the 61 census it says Durham 71 England and the 81 Norton. Hope this helps

Married 22 March 1856,   St. Thomas Church, Stockton-On-Tees, County Durham.

I have the marriage cert for Mary and Archibald-also Mary's death cert where I got her father's name. It is the father Robert Blakeston that I can't find anywhere? Also there is no mothers name on Mary's death certificate. Any help with them appreciated

Thanks Rosie99 - all I know about Robert is his name from Marys marriage and death certificate. Mary also I can only find from 1861/71/81 census in Scotland-nothing on 41/51 census. I presume Archibald went to work there where they married in 1856- their first child was born there in 1857 then they moved to Scotland where their second child was born in 1858. Thanks for your help

The Robert I found in census is living at Norton which is where Mary said she was born on one census.

I will follow up on that. That would have made Robert about 54 when Mary was born. I still have to find Mary on 41/51 census and her mothers name. Thanks again for your help
