Charles Horsfield's mother, 1797
« on: Friday 23 March 12 15:03 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I realise I'm embarrassing meself, but....

I have Charles Horsfield, bapt. 1797, Hoylandswaine, father John.
Now, from somewhere, I also have Charles' mother as Lydia Moakson/Moxon, but apart from in a few unsubstantiated public trees, I have absolutely no recollection of where this "fact"come from.
 ??? :-[ :-[ ::)

Any help/pointers/further info' would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

'Hat.

Hi Rog,

There's a marriage 25 Feb 1793, St Peter, Leeds for a John Horsfield and a Lydia Moxon.    Very faint image but John shown as nailmaker (?).

Any help?

Hi, NJ,

I saw that, but was concerned that Leeds was a little way from Hoylandswaine, where Charles was baptised. Having said that, son Charles was a nail maker too, so it makes sense in that respect.

That is probably where I got it from, but I don't remember if I found any other confirmation!

I'd have saved myself a lot of hassle if I'd made resource notes the first time round!
