Ruth & William Lamb b. 1816

Is anyone researching this family?

Ruth and William Lamb, both born around 1816. William was from Scotland, Ruth from Birmingham. Their children were Margaret (or Mary), Jane, Bridget, William, George, Emma. In 1841 they are living in Sheffield.

William and Ruth disappear from the census records in 1851, though I can find three of the children in Birmingham, living with Mary, now married to James Payne. Ruth re-appears in 1861 as a widow, in Sheffield. Daughter Emma marries Walter Crow in Sheffield.

I am looking for Ruth's maiden-name, and anything at all about William...and what befell them between 1841-1861. If anyone has any information I would be very grateful.

1861 shows sons William b 1846 and George born 1848 and daughter Emma b 1855 - all in  Birmingham so Ruth & William may have been living in Warwickshire in 1851
