susannah allaby daughter of richard and mary allaby was christened on the 11th april 1819 at over,cheshire

i think this is susans father and possibly her mother mary or her sister?where they are living is where susan states on most censuses as her birthplace

it looks like the 1841 census for richard is with his second wife also called mary
there is this though it is only a submitted entry
richard allaby and mary whittle were married on the 30th may 1833 at whitegate,cheshire

that is as far as i can go with susan and john hodkinson
will have a look to see if i can go further back with owen birtwistle the father of your owen born c1861
the earliest we have gone back so far with him is 1861(see reply 9)

also on the same page is a john birtwistle age 60 occ sawyer and elizabeth birtwistle age 60 possibly owens grandparents
there is also on the 1851 census living next door to john. a john birtwistle age 77 occ sawyer but he is with a martha birtwistle age 66 so this could possibly be owens grandparents
any way this is as far back with certainty as i can go with the birtwistles
if there are any names on any of the replies that you would like me to delve into a bit deeper then just let me know and i will see what i can do

Hello, if you would like further info regarding the Birtwistle family.   A collaboration over a number of years has resulted in a Book about the Birtwistles by Lester A Birtwistle.
 As well as a Family Tree which includes  the Birtwistles, Bertwistles and Birtwhistles From Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cheshire.
This Tree which goes back to 1100 has just been uploaded onto Ancestry.com by Lester Alan Birtwistle. If you can not find it, check the chatboard on Ancestry under Birtwistle  as Lester Alan  has posted numerous times and you will be able to make contact with him.  I could give you his email address but do not think that this is allowed on this site.

Also on Ancestry check out the England&Wales Criminal Records there is an Owen Birtwistle mentioned 14 May 1855 Cheshire.
