I didn't realise that, now I understand.

Will have to wait and see what the Kendal Records office can tell me. I also asked them if they had a plan of the cemetery.

Would be be great if there was a gravestone but, with most of my family search, headstones don't seem to exist.

Had a reply from Kendal Records Office.

They have a Beetham churchyard plan but unfortunately it is too early for the burials I am interested in.  They also have a Monumental Inscriptions catalogue for Beetham too, but again nothing found there  :'(.

On the 1861 census, Anthony Titterington was living at the Milnthorpe Workhouse. He died there in 1865.

Could it be possible he was buried in Milnthorpe.

Contacted Kendal Records Office as I had given them the wrong year, should have been 1865 and not 1856.

They looked up the Burial register for Beetham and have found an entry for Anthony Titterington. As he died in Milnthorpe workhouse, it is unlikely there will be a headstone. The church's oldest burial registers start in 1892.

However, I now know he is buried in Beetham cemetery.

So kind of you to be thinking of me :). I must try to visit Milnthorpe soon.

My GGG Grandparents lived in Cold Well, which I think was in Yealand Conyers. They are buried in Warton.

There are so many places I need to see regarding my ancestors - Lake District - Warton - Arnside, to name a few.

I do hope to come and enjoy the area. I love the Lake District with the beautiful scenery. My father was born in Kirby Lonsdale.

Yes, Mary (Sawrey) was my GGG Grandmother, she was married to William Titterington. They don't appear to have headstones but, I can take photographs of Warton Church. I am doing a Family Tree scrapbook at the moment, which is most interesting.
