Restore if possible & a date would be great
« on: Monday 02 April 12 20:14 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Was wondering if it was possible to restore this picture. Unfortunately the only copy i have was received via email. I have printed and scanned @ 600 dpi but then needed to re-size so hopefully the quality is still OK.

The picture is of Eleanor Edmonds Jeffery (1821-1875)
She was married to Micheal Minter in 1842 in Folkestone, Kent
They emirgrated to Australia (sorry haven't got a date for that :-[)

When i'd scanned the picture in it missed out the the small boarder on the bottom of the picture. on the left was the following E. de Balk and on the left was Geelong
Would I be right in guessing that E. de Balk was the studio/photographer. Geelong is the location In Victoria, Australia where she died

Many thanks in advance

Early/mid 1860s for a date. Unfortunately printing and scanning won't work at all, it has to be a scan of the original photo. As you can see, the quality of the resolution isn't improved by this method, as you can't add pixels that aren't there.

Cheers,

To me this Woman does not look to be in her 40's even in the origanal emailed photo.
A daughter of Michael/Eleaonor perhaps.
Agree 1860's Photo though.

Have to agree with Trish,she looks in her 20's & possibly married as she has her left hand in a prominent position.Agree early-mid 1860's so someone born around 1840 I would say.

Daug Ella born c 1844, Victoria who Married Robert Copland LETHBRIDGE 1863 age 19.

I couldnt help myself and found a Tree earlier and have traced Robert back with his Parents and Grandparents in Cornwall.
If you have a Tree on Anc Salmonblue you will have received several PM's from me ;D

If not PM me on here and I will give you more details;
Robert Copland LETHBRIDGE Baptised 16 Jan 1801, St Mary Launceston, Cornwall
Parents CHRISTOPHER/MARY
He was privately baptised earlier though 17 Aug 1798.
(This fits with his age at Death and Death Reg in Aust.)

Parents;
Christopher 1761 died 1830, OccpTown Clerk and Mary nee COPLAND
Christophers Parents JOHN, Clerk and Sibella LUXMOORE/Luxmore
