HI All
I am trying to find out information abt James McKenna & his wife Margaret before they left Ireland for England, I have them on the 1851 Census living in Byker Northumberland they are all recorded as born Ireland

James McKenna 35
Margeret McKenna 33
Bartley McKenna 13
Maria McKenna 7
James McKenna 4
Catherine McKenna 2

I have them the 1861 as follows all born Ireland Dublin apart from John b Newcastle
   Name Age
James Mc Kenna 43
Margaret Mc Kenna 39
Bartholomew Mc Kenna 22
Elizabeth Mc Kenna 19
Mary Mc Kenna 16
Catherine Mc Kenna 13
John Mc Kenna 7   Born Newcastle  Northumberland

I have tried without success to get a Birth Certificate for John which would have given me his Mothers maiden name.
On the 1871 Census it is as follows
                               Name Age
James McKenna 55         Born Monaghan Ireland
Margaret McKenna 52     Born Armagh  Ireland
John McKenna 17            Born Newcastle

Going by the Births of the children they must have arrived in England 1849/50
Is it possible with this information to locate them in Ireland

are you sure the 1871 and 1861 returns refer to the same family ?
quite a difference in places of birth...

I have just checked the 1861 Census again above the family is a Thomas King who I guess was born in Ireland Dublin  it has then been Dittoed for the Mckenna Family but only the Ireland portion.
I have attached that portion what do you think.

Hi,

I think Bartholomew moved to Warrington. 1901 has him born Monaghan.

When I posted, I was thinking that you could be looking in Monaghan rather than Ireland in general.
