I checked the online civil registration index and can't find Denis' birth (Denis Curtin 1910/1919)- of course, it's possible he ws registered as Joseph, under another Christian name or as 'male'.

Are you sure of his mother's maiden name? might it be Heffernan?

Do you know if they had any other children born in Ireland.
Assuming they were married by the time of the Census in 1911 I found a John and Elizabeth Curtin in Cork they already have two sons and a daughter, their youngest is only 5 months a bit soon to have another in december but not impossible.
There is also a John and Lizzie Curtin in Kerry they have six children.

MARRIAGE: Elizabeth Heffernan Jan./Mar.1906 Cork registration district volume 5 page 114.
Can't find match for a Curtin?

MARRIAGE: John J. Curtin Apr./June 1906 Kanturk registration district volume 5 page 157
No match for Heffernan on page.

Its possible that the Curtin family showing in Census 1911 at  Ballybrannagh Tralee is the correct one
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kerry/Arabela/Ballybrannagh/280744/

There is a marriage of Elizabeth Heffernan Jan Mar 1900 Tralee Vol 5 page 463 and a John Curtin with the same references so a possible match.
Also Birth reg for Denis Curtin Tralee Jul Sep 1911 Vol 5 page 449
This may be too early but there is a later one Oct Dec 1913 Tralee vol 5 page 438. Would be worthwhile getting the birth certs.

I knew I'd seen some Kerry marriages on that website up to about 1900 - so thought I'd give it a try!
