  how, or where can i contact to find marriabe in ensley jefferson alabama in 1921 this marriage was a nora a cushen who was married to a mark w cushen(same surnames it appears) seeking to find out if nora was irish and if her father was a Charles Cushen thanks for some guidance

Hi Advent,

Looking at the 1920 Census it gives Nora as born in Alabama
There is a family tree entry that shows Nora Stass (with photograph) - Born abt 1897 in Alabama (father born  Nebraska and Mother Alabama)
Nora died May 1984 in Atlanta, Dekalb, Georgia. Nora was married to a Mark Wood Cushen.

Just to clarify. Ensley is a part of Birmingham, which is in Jefferson County Alabama, so the county you would apply to would be Jefferson.  HB

thank you hannaghb having great difficulty finding a nora dob 1896 charlotte 1899 margaret 1883 and mary or possibly annie mary cushen 1881 who were all sisters from abbeyleix in co laois ireland, their father was charles mother was margaret formly quinn. annie mary emigrated 1909 the other 3 sisters april 1912 travelled to boston
