« on: Tuesday 17 April 12 18:53 BST (UK) »
I`m looking for any information about this place and who lived there.
I`ve tried searching Wills , but without any names , it is quite a task.

16th Century features. Mainly rebuilt modern times. 2 storey. Rubble. Thin slate roof. Gabled South projection. Ovolo rect. window.
Early features: doorway (inscribed date 1589 and initials OW MW) and Window. Moulded wood cornice early 18th century? in entrance hall

I have some more details, it`s actually in the parish of Llangwyfan. The OW initials mentioned are probably  Owen Woode, I found the  info below on a web site. It could be a MI on a very old gravestone ?.

1 The following scans in hexameters:-
“Blessed, thrice blessed, O marble, because you hold the noble Wood, which the unhappy island now misses. While alive, Owen was a useful wood to his homeland and after his death, he is the Wood of life [a play on lignum vitae, presumably] to God. I, his son, set up this monument to my father. This is my prayer, whose name is the same as yours, Owen. ”
The remainder reads “ On the death of Owen Woode, armigerous [ ie. bore a coat of arms] who died on the 6th day of April in the year of our Lord 1602 aged 70 .”
2 Llangwyfan House

From 1841 /1911 Llangwyfan Isaf was occupied by a succession of Owens  , whether these are the same family I don`t know , there are so many Owens in the are it`s really hard to work out.

1841 Robert Owen 60.

1851 Richard Owen 43
Wife Ellin Owen 47

1861 Richard Owen 57
Wife Ellin Owen 55

1871 Richard Owen 57
Wife Judith Owen 27

1881 William Owen 36
Wife Elizabeth Owen 36

1891 William Owen 46
Wife Elizabeth Owen 46

1901 William Owen 56
Daughter Ellin Catherin Owen 24

One decade later
William Owen 66
Daughter  E F Richards wid 31
Sister Margaret Roberts widow 71

Any more help still will be appreciated .  Considering this is such an old building, there is very little on the web.

Hello
Robert Owen who was living in Llangwyfan Isaf in 1841 was my gt gt gt gt grandfather.  He was born c.1776 in Llanllibio, Anglesey and married Jane Owen at Llangwyfan on 8 Oct 1802.  Jane was the daughter of David Owen and Jane Hughes of Bodelwa.   Robert died 19 Mar 1854 and was buried at Aberffraw.  Jane died 3 Feb 1838 and was also buried at Aberffraw.

They had 3 children, David Owen 1803-70,  Richard Owen 1808-73, and Elizabeth Owen 1811-43 from whom I descend.

The Richard Owen who appears in the census at Llangwyfan was baptised there on 15 May 1808 and died on 20 Jan 1873 (buried Aberffraw).  His first wife was Ellin and his second wife was Judith Jones.

Hope these details might help with your research on the property.

Thanks, I have seen the house since we started going to the race track close by, that was about 20 years ago.  I just wondered about it.
At one time there was someone living there, I was told it was a retired vicar, it did look very neglected and overgrown.
There was a large collection of rooks living in the trees.
