WILMOT-WILLMOT family of Wraysbury
« on: Sunday 22 April 12 03:02 BST (UK) »
I am seeking information regarding my paternal 4th Great Grandparents, Nathaniel and Mary Wilmot

The dates are as follows:  Nathaniel Wilmot (no birth or death dates) but for apprentices under him: 1789, 1791 and 1801, as wheelwright and carpenter.
Mary Trotman Wilmot, born before 13 Apr 1761 (baptized at Finsbury St Luke's Old Street), died 28 Feb 1807 (buried St Andrews,  Churchyard, Wraysbury)

* Note that the WILMOT name is also found spelled as WILLMOT

Nathaniel Wilmot was by trade a carpenter and wheelwright in Wyrardisbury (Wraysbury).  He enlisted a few apprentices during his occupation.  The carpenter/building trade he passed down through the family.  According to Wraysbury history, Nathaniel Wilmot was one land owner who benefited from the Enclosure Act.  And records indicate that Mary Wilmot is buried in St Andrews Churchyard in Wraysbury (South Side).

*Note  One other person buried at St Andrews Churchyard is unknown relation to the Wilmot family, as well:  William Wilmot, died 15th April 1803, aged 89 years.
He could possibly be Nathaniel's father or some other relative.

I would love to hear from any forum member who might be familiar with this Wilmot/Willmot family.
Wilmot, Willmot from Wyrardisbury (Wraysbury) Buckinghamshire and Eastbourne, Sussex, England.

many years ago in my youth I knew a young lad from Wraysbury called Wilmot, can't for the life of me remember his first name now as he was always known as "Will" so the family was still there up until the 70's at least.

I lived in the next village and he went to the secondary school in the our village.

Sorry I can't help you any more though as I'm not in that area any more

I am descended from Nathaniel Willmot via his son William(1784-1862).

Nathaniel was the youngest child of 6 born to William Willmot(1714-1808).

I'd be happy to exchange information about William, Nathaniel and my branch of the family

Peter

Greetings,
I am a descendant of Nathaniel Wilmott and Mary Trotman via their son John (1786-1854). His descendants have lived in Leics and Derbys since he moved there. I was fortunate in that the very detailed 1851 census entry records his place of origin in Bucks (it also shows his wife, Rose Hull originating in the village of Up Cerne, Dorset - both d. in Leicester). John, like his father, was a joiner and carpenter.
I am interested in the reference to the family of Nathaniel's father, William and would be grateful for any information if possible.

Hi there.
I’m descended from William Willmot, John Willmot’s older brother and have an extensive tree from that part of the family. Through this site I’ve also contacted another ‘lost’ branch of the family which emigrated to the USA.
Good to be in touch and happy to exchange info.
Peter
