Nesbitt, Antrim
« on: Thursday 26 April 12 17:37 BST (UK) »
looking for Henrietta Grace Nesbitt and sister Jane Charlotte Nesbitt.

Found them on the 1911 census living in Co. Down, and on this they indicate their birth place as Antrim. Henrietta is 32 and Jane 30 (thus born 1879 and 1871), and list themselves as Presbytarian.

I was hoping to find them on the 1901 census, but cannot find either of them  :o(

LDS does not have a birth record

Found probate records at PRONI for them, and Jane leaves part of her estate to the grandson of my x4 great Aunt, Robert Nesbitt Keller.

Can anyone help me with identifying their parents and other family? I feel that they relate to us somehow, but can't find enough to help me.

Thank you

Jim ..THANK YOU

This must be them, but how odd that their ages listed don't change from 1901 to 1911!!  Grrrr .. that part is not helpful, but does perhaps broaden the scope for research  :o)

Hi
just to confuse matters theres also a Grace aged 24 and an Elizabeth Jane aged 22(ages could match if the 1911 census is right) listed with mother and siblings at 38 Halcombe st in 1901

Hello Jim

Always a twist somewhere  :o)

My family line is all methodist, so am inclined to take your first find as my two sisters. Also, their probate records would indicate that you first find is more likely

JANE CHARLOTTE NESBITT (1137) of Mount Royal Banbridge Co.Down spinster died 25 April 1936. Probate Belfast 28 Aug to Robert Nesbitt Keller solicitor and David Walsh merchant. Effects £3846-11s-6d.

HENRIETTA GRACE NESBITT (764) of Mount Royal Banbridge Co.Down spinster died 6 March 1933. Probate Belfast 22 June to Jane Charlotte Nesbitt spinster. Effects £1,746-17s-11d.

They leave, what I understand for that time, is a sizeable estate, so are more well off than the 2nd family (?) . If only the probate showed their age at death ... would help a little. Do you think newspapre archives may have a death notice?  I haven't invested in that yet ...

Hi
if you have access to Ancestry, The Belfast News Letter is available to search, which includes some death notices, but most Protestant death notices would be in The Belfast Telegraph, which is not available on line.
