That was great. Thanks.
Esp. as the visitor was a relative of his wife Eliza.

I now need to find him on the 1871 Census but I think that he might have gone to Shropshire by then.

Regards,
Inchworm

Hi,

I've got Henry Dunnell (transcribed as Dunwell), Lodger, 49, M, Wakefield, Yorks at 15 High Street (Crown Hotel), St Leonard, Shropshire.

RG10/2742 Pg3

The age is a bit out though...

Regards, Emma ;)

Thanks for finding Henry. It was on the 1861 that he gave the wrong age.
As he was in lodgings, his wife Eliza must have died, as he re-married later in 1871 to another Eliza who was over 25 years younger than him.
I wonder what he did with his son Arthur Harry?

Thanks so much. :) :) :)

Oh, just a thought.
Has Henry got an occupation on the 1871 census?

Thats interesting.
I am having trouble finding when Eliza died.
They also had another child (boy?) between 1853 and 1861 but he died as a child.

I believe Henry Dunnill worked at 1-3 Bond Street in Manchester with business partner John Palmer, and traded as booksellers, bookbinders, etc., as Dunnill, Palmer, and Co. The business ceased trading on April 1, 1862. Around this time, the president of Whalley Range Cricket Club is listed as H. Dunnill, so this is likely to be Henry, bearing in mind the proximity of Whalley Range to Chorlton. Hope this info proves useful. Kind Regards, Pete.
