Barnstaple, Devon. Cemetery Plot Search
« on: Sunday 29 April 12 11:25 BST (UK) »
Really need some help to track down a grave plot in Barnstaple, Devon.

We have the Year of death and name of the family member, we know that the death is registered in this area, however we do not have the actual cemetery or plot details.

This has become urgent as we have family visiting from Australia who are keen to locate the grave but we only have until tomorrow.  We did have one  family lead which has since gone cold and left us with very short time to locate the grave.

Any help that can be offered would be appreciated - We are driving down to the area today in the hope we can resolve the query by tomorrow - Long shot?  Maybe but has to be worth a try!

Hi Rosie, thanks.

We are looking for the grave of Daniel Finbar Sheehan. I believe he may be listed as Daniel Finbarn Sheehan, who died in June/July 1985 and he was buried in Barnstaple, Devon.  Family really want to find the grave.

Any help you can offer is appreciated.

Kind regards
Andy

Hi Andy

I am afraid I can't help on this one  but I will ask the moderators to move the post to the Devon boards where hopefully someone with local knowledge can help.

Rosie/ Mike

Thanks for your help.

We were able to locate the necessary information and found the grave!  The council in Barnstaple and the staff at the cemetery were incredibly helpful and directed us to the actual grave.  With no headstone, it would have been impossible to locate the plot without the help.

Thanks for your help and advice.

Kind regards
Andy & family.
