Iam looking for any information on Ashelford born in Swimbridge...
I have found them on the 1881 census...but nothing before or after

Have you not tried the 1901 census online ?

There are 2 ASHELFORDs that meet your criteria:

Thomas ASHELFORD 50 b Swynbridge, Devon. Swansea, Furnaceman.
John ASHELFORD 44 b Swmbridge, Devon. Swansea, Rly Eng Fitter.

If you look up their census returns you can get their 1901 address.
With this information you can ask someone on here  ;) to look up the address in 1891..

There are 142 ASHELFORDs on the 1901 census online.

There are no matches to Swimbridge born Ashelford's in the 1861 Glamorgan Census.

The entries I have viewed are listed as Ashford / Asford no matches to Ashelford

Ashelford
James 46 b. Chittlehampton Devon
Jane  46 b. Chittlehampton
Thomas 20 b. Swimbridge
John 15 b. Swimbridge
Alfred 9 b. Swimbridge

James Ashelford, b. 1822 d. 1913, was the son of Thomas Ashelford and Grace Cooper.  James m. Jane Shaddick. 

Thomas Ashelford was the son of Thomas Ashelford and Betty Clements who married at Chittlehampton in 1784.  This earlier Thomas was bapt. 1761 Lydeard St. Lawrence, Somerset, son of William and Sarah. 

James and Jane had other children, including James Ashelford b. 1853 m. Elizabeth Owens 1872 at Swansea, Wales.  Several of their children went to Connecticut, USA.

I do not have all the Chittlehampton/Swimbridge Ashelford descendants.  My descent is from William and Sarah by another son who remained in Somerset.
