David Gardham - Where did he go?
« on: Monday 07 May 12 14:15 BST (UK) »
David Gardham was born in October quarter 1838 in Liverpool, son of John Gardham and Elinora Kenney of Yorkshire and Ireland respectively.

David is with his parents in 1841, 1851 and 1861 but promptly disappears thereafter.

The marriage of David Gardham to Alice Porter in Liverpool in 1893 is his nephew so that one can be discounted.  There is another one in Yorkshire in 1866 that could be him, but even then I would have thought he would have turned up with his wife on a census or in a death registration.

Any information gratefully received as to where he could have ended up  :)

Thanks

Hi

What was his occupation in 1861, I cant see him then. I see that in 1851 his father was a mariner, I wonder if David also went to sea and if that is why he isn't showing in the censuses.

Jan

Added:  Just found him in 1861 and he is a mariner, so I guess he is at sea for the following censuses.

You can rule out the Sculcoates marriage as that David married an Emily and they appear in the 1871 census. He was born in Yorkshire in 1846 and was a shepherd.
