Surrey Militia
« on: Monday 07 May 12 14:56 BST (UK) »
Hi

Hoping someone can help me on this one please.

My 4 x Great Grandfather was named James Deakins, when his son was chrstened in 1782, James was only 19 but listed his occupation as in the Surrey Militia. Does anyone know where I can get records of this because I can't go any further with james as this is the only info I have on him.

Many thanks

The Family History Centre in Woking holds the records that you will be looking for...  :D

One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.
