Uninvited "tab" invasion on ymail account - help please.
« on: Wednesday 09 May 12 20:07 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am very guarded who knows my email, and on my ymail account, suddenly at the top, on the row of "tabs" I have one that keeps flashing when I am using my mail, I haven't opened it, but it keeps flashing and I keep deleting it - unopened - every time I go on to the account, the thing re-appears.

I would like to stop it completely, can any kind soul tell me what I need to do.  The name on it looks very suspect.

Thanks

I had something like this a few weeks ago.  It turned out to be someone wanting to be added to my talk list on yahoo messenger (which I've never used in my life).  I kept clicking deny and it would be back again the next day.  Eventually an option to block appeared which I clicked and have never been bothered again.

Like you I am ultra cautious but it was necessary to look at the message (which was not an email as such) in order to deal with it.

Christine

Hi Christine,

I really appreciate your reply, thank you.

Well. I shall just have to hope that the block thing comes up soon, as it is driving me nuts!!  It is exactly as you describe - not an email.

Thanks again,
