Marriage lookup for HECKENBERG COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 10 May 12 05:27 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I would greatly appreciate any help in my search for marriage details for Henry (or possibily Caspar Henry) and Harriet Heckenberg (nee Yet?).

I have been advised that their son Casper Theodore Heckenberg was b. 10 Dec 1810 and Baptised 23 Feb 1812 as per Stoke Damerel parish records.

Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated as I am also researching "Heckenberg's" within the Hull Yorkshire area but am confused if the family moved or if they are two seperate families with similiar names. ???

many thanks in advance, Tanya  :)

In addition to Casper Theodore, Henry & Harriet also baptised at Stoke Damerel:
26 Dec 1813 Henry Edwin HECKENBERG, parents abode: Dock, father a baker.
A daughter, Harriet was baptised at Plymouth St Andrew 30 Mar 1817, again father a baker, but residence now Plymouth.
Casper was buried in Australia (Rockwood Cemetery, Sydney) 3 Oct 1894 aged 83. He was a master mariner.
Henry HECKENBERG married Harriet PETERS at Plymouth St Andrew 26 Mar 1811 (hence delay in baptising Casper?)

Wow!! Thank you so very much!!

It is fantastic news to finally have an official link to the UK and to get some clarity around where the Heckenberg's came from.

I am so thankful for your time, this is such great news!!  ;D

Also, if anyone else is following thread, I can confirm that Henry Edwin Heckenberg also traveled to Aust. He is buried in QLD died Apr 8 1883, there are now many QLD Heckenberg's.

Caspar Theodore Heckenberg also left plenty of decendants, mostly in NSW. The Sydney Suburb of Heckenberg, is so called after Caspar Theodore's son William and his wife Virgina settled in the area.

Thank- you DOB7 once again, your an absolute gem! :)
