Hi,

Please would any kind soul help me to locate the marriage of:

John Goodman to Hannah ? before 14/4/1734, in Shearsby, or one of the surrounding parishes?

I'd be very grateful for any help.

Many thanks,

Chris

hi chris - family search beta has a lot of children for this couple you may have seen - some Shearsby/ some Langton Thorpe and there is:

Ann 5/4/1730 weston by welland, northants  John & Hannah Goodman

this is right on the Leics /Northants border and near to langton /shearsby so could the marriage have been Northants?

Hi Diddy,

Thank you very much for your kind reply - I couldn't be more appreciative and grateful.

You really have come up with a bright idea - I've had to get the old map out and have another look at the IGI!

I'm scratching my head over this; don't know if there are two John and Hannah Goodmans or is it that they started off in Weston By Welland and then moved to Shearsby? (Can't find a suitable marriage for them in either place on the IGI).
There is also a Jno and Hannah Goodman in Weston By Welland having kids baptised about the same time, just to add to the confusion!
I wonder if this is John's bap in Shearsby:

John bap 31/12/1697  father  John Goodman

What do you think?

Kindest regards,

Chris

Hi Diddy,

Just to let you know that I have now located the marriage in Market Harborough in 1733 through help from the Northants board. FANTASTIC! I couldn't be more pleased, but it was you who kindly started me in the right direction, so I'm very grateful to you, as I don't think I would have found it without you.

Thanks very much,

Chris
