Old Family Secrets Revealed!

I really enjoyed this article in today's "Guardian" It's regarding the 1861 census on line but what is really amusing is the story of the Isaac Norris Hunt...the gossip prone enumerator of Stow on the Wold! He had everybody in the town pegged!

Cheers,
Indi

Thanks for that Indi,

Sure made me smile :) To be honest, I think it was no bad thing that Mr Hunt was so dilligent in his work, what a wealth of information (scandalous or otherwise) he must have recorded about the lives of the people of Stow on Wold.

I wish that some of the enumerators that visited my families had been so thorough ;D

Regards,Mick ;)
