Alfred Munnings in Norfolk
« on: Tuesday 15 May 12 19:50 BST (UK) »
Recently I was very excited to stumble across an article about Alfred Munnings: http://www.50connect.co.uk/articles/art-by-alfred-munnings.
I believe it mentions my Great Grand Uncle (My Great Grandads brother) and I was just wondering whether anybody knew anything about Alfred Munnings travels through Norfolk in the early 1900's. When Alfred was travelling through Norfolk, he had a gypsy companion called Fountain George Page (my Great Grand Uncle) who featured in many of Munnings' paintings under his nickname Shrimp. I have ordered a marriage certificate to confirm that he is my relation and dates and names match.
I would love to know more about Fountain so if anybody has any information about his travels with Munnings, I would love to hear about it. I know Alfred Munnings wrote an autobiography and Fountain is mentioned in it, I will have to give that a read! :)

Many thanks :)

Hi, Thanks for all your help, I am so sorry I have not answered sooner as I have not been on here lately. :)  They are the details I have for Fountain although I stumbled across another website for Munnings which claimed that Fountain was illegitimate. The Fountain on my family tree is not illegimate as I have both his marriage and birth certificates which mention his dads name as well as his mum and dads wedding certificate (they were married before Fountain was born). Thanks for the links about the Romany and Gypsy family history tracing, that may help me to solve the mystery :).
