Try looking at Genuki for Durham.  I am sure it will have information about it.  Bedburn is very close to Hamsterley to the west of the A68 north of West Auckland.

North Bedburn is NOT where Bedburn is but is further away and covers a circular area roughly from Fir Tree then down to  River Wear down from Fir Tree to McNeil's Bottom through to Whitton le Wear then past Whitton Park and Escomb up to High Grange, North Bitchburn, Howden le Wear then up to Crook and back down to Fir Tree. This is the area most mines were in as coal deposits were large. If any researcher finds an ancestor whose address is given as High Flat or Low Flat and cannot find any trace of those addresses, data actually relates to an area in Crook where there were houses at High Thistleflat and Low Thistleflat. This link shows where that was:   www.archiuk.com and search for Crook. My great grandfather was on the records and I have spent a long time finally finding out that the census person did not put all of the address data on the records, deciding to shorten the name.

Others have answered the specific question but I thought the following may help in the future.

When you look at the census return image if you page back to the first page in the enumeration district you will see a description of the area the enumerator covered. That often helps to pin down where a place is.
