Info needed - Tom Stimpson - Potter's Bar 1950s
« on: Monday 21 May 12 07:16 BST (UK) »
Hi,

A long shot indeed, but I'm trying to find more information on one Tom (or Thomas) Stimpson who lived in the Potters Bar area in the 1950s.
The only information I know is that he was a coalman in the area

Any information or clues as to the direction to look in to try to uncover any leads on Tom gratefully received!

Thanks

Jason

Is Tom likely to be still living?  RootsChat is meant for finding ancestors, rather than living people.

Personal details of any people known or thought to be living will be removed, in accordance with RootsChat policy, to avoid spamming and other abuses. So people here will be able to give you general tips and hints how to proceed, but not any concrete details.

www.freebmd.org.uk might be a good place to look for a death.

Hi Andrea,

I think it's unlikely as it's thought he was born during WW1 so he would be nearing 100 by now.
It's known that he fathered a child from his relationship, and the object is to find sources to help identify the right Tom Stimpson in the BMD records to then trace his ancestry.
There are quite a few potential Tom Stimpsons in the death indexes, I am trying to find ways of narrowing the field before I start ordering them all!

Thanks

Jason
