"26 Wolverton Avenue U.D." - Kingston Hospital?

I have a 1947 birth certificate that shows the place of birth is "26 Wolverton Avenue U.D." Could someone please confirm that this is/was Kingston Hospital at that time?

Coincidentally I have just recently received a copy of my Gt Grandfather's death certificate which records his place of death in 1946 as 26 Wolverton Avenue UD Kingston. It would make sense for this to be a hospital.

I was born here in 1948. I always thought it was a nursing home but maybe not.
