« on: Monday 21 May 12 17:30 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I wonder if anyone can trace the origin of the surname?
Is it French?

Thanks

Sue

Hi Sue

Where have you found this surname?  A quick Google brings up this post, but no other people with that name.

Nothing showing worldwide on either of the LDS FamilySearch sites that I looked at.

There is an N A Strugem residing in Pennsylvania in the IRS Tax Assessment Lists, 1862-1918; and a Sophia Strugem bc1906 Italy who was a passenger departing and arriving New York, resident of Italy, 25/2/1934; both these entries on Ancestry, either could be mis-transcriptions.

A burial for an Ernest Strugem who was born and buried 1880 Kimberworth, West Riding of Yorkshire in the parish records; again probably a mis-transcription.

Nothing on FreeBMD.

Not much to go on really.
