« on: Tuesday 22 May 12 08:17 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Im looking for best places to try and find the birth of my great great grandfather and where he stayed. My father said he was from Letterkenny and Scottish census returns states he was born around 1862 in Armagh, Ireland. Only other info I have is his father's name was Andrew

Any help would be greatly appreciated

For reference here's a link to previous topic on DONEGAL board-

"His father's name was Andrew and he was a farmer. His mother was Margery Devine. He was married in Airdrie in 1886 and first appears in a census in 1891. The marriage cert says his mother Margery Devine or Quin was dead in 1886."

Since Cornelius was born before birth registration you would need to know the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland) to see if church records exist.
