Can anyone lookup John Ernest Hodgson on New York Passenger lists please.I have Ancestry but not including this list.
If you can would you see who is travelling with him and any other information there
might be

Hi Isy...I had a look at the Castle Garden site but no match.....Also Ellis Island and the ISTG sites but without a date and place of birth there were too many.
I don't have full Ancestry Subs so can't help you but it might be a good idea to post a request on the American Look ups Board.

Thanks Carol,it was a long shot.He was born Sproatley East Yorkshire,Skirlaugh reg district,he married my grans sister and they lost touch after the war WW1 that is my uncle seems to think they went to Canada,I was hoping he would have a Hannah 1890 Hull and Gladys 1914 Hull with him.
I have FindMyPast but cant see them on there and also basic Ancestry but unfortunately it wont let me see unless I subscribe.

Hi,

If I've looked at the right one, John E Hodgson born abt 1888, arriving from New York in 1919, then he's travelling with wife Eliza (32), both giving an adress in Sunderland.

If I've got the wrong one, let me know and I'll see if I can find the right one.

I just need a bit more info from you to help confirm I am looking for the correct John Ernest Hodgson as there are possibly two so far born abt 1888 england and living in Canada and USA

Also would you no anything about a Josph Hodgson born abt 1893

The 1889 one is the one I was after .He came up as a hint on my tree on Ancestry,that was why I wanted to check him out.
The daughter Gladys was theres too he married Hannah Grainger born 1890 Hull

can you tell me if you would have a Joseph Hodgson born abt 1893 in your tree

the reason I ask is there is a Hannah and Gladys Hodson traveling with a Joseph Hodson
 Hannah is married but Joseph is single and I was wondering if that could be them
and the Hodson should be Hodgson

It could be,as I told Carol,Hanahs sister lost touch after WW1 as she moved to Lancaster,she always wanted to find her.
I dont have a Joseph Hodson 1893 in my tree as far as I know.
