Thomas DUNMOW birth in Leaden Roding

Hi I am trying to find the birth of Thomas DUNMOW of Leading Roding - census says about 1803 -1841 census - he married Mary Ann Hooper in 1824 in Leaden Roding. He may have been born near Leaden Roding- perhaps AYthorpe Roding, opr Abbess Roding I beleive his father may be james bt thats not gospel. Any help would be apprechiated. Thank you

How sure are you of the marriage as I found the following at Leaden Roding.

Thomas Dunmow, bachelor
Mary Ann Carpenter, widow
both of the parish and by banns
14th September, 1827
witnesses
William Stones??
John Roast

Hi i am nopt 100% about the marriage- only got the son i was looking for- John Dunmow born in 1838 on the census for 1841 and his father is Thomas and mother mary ann so yes could be the 1827 one- not sure how i would prove one or the other as there are a lot of dunmow`s in leaden roding all with the same names- there are three Johns in 5 years. I also cannot find the family at all in 1851 on census`s - there doesnt seem to be any dunmows on there- prob spelt wrong as spelt dunmore on 1841 census. Thank you

Oh sorry just been looking at my family tree- there is a child mary born in 1825 - i know it prob doesnt mean too much but i think thats why i took the 1824 marriage.

I am afraid you won't find Leaden Roding in the 1851 census as that part of Essex is completely missing. :'(


Could be a child of the mother from her previous marriage and took the Dunmow name.

1861 census says Thomas born L Roding but I couldn't see a baptism for him there or in Abbess R ot Ayethorpe R.

It also says Mary born Bigbury Kent.

I just looked up mary ann hooper on igi birth- there is a birth 1807 in leaden roding and her marriage is 14 sept 1824 - doesnt say who to but i got the marriage to thomas from somewhere- cant remember where now??

ah - got it on igi if you put in thomas dunmow marings up marriage to mary ann hooper 1824
