Huguenot Records
« on: Wednesday 30 May 12 04:34 BST (UK) »
Hello.  Does anyone have access to the Huguenot records for Thorpe-Le-Soken?  I cannot navigate Nat. A*. :(
Research suggests that my Legender (Legendre) family came from France to Mistley/Manningtree in the 17th century and this may tie in with the Huguenot's.
I know that Isaac Legender (dob abt 1754) married Mary Jacobs in 1773 in Mistley and they had many children (I have all details of children and the marriage).
I also think (do not have conclusive evidence) that his father was also an Isaac Legender (Legendre) (dob abt 1716 in Mistley).  Finally, perhaps Isaac's father was Jacques Legendre born in France 1680's and it was he who moved to Essex, perhaps with his parents???  Perhaps a Huguenot??

Any assistance much appreciated.

Thank you, Christay
