baptisms St. Peter's / St. David's

Hi,

Is anybody able to check the baptism transcriptions for Catholics in Cardiff St. Peter's and Cardiff St. David's?

I know they have been transcribed up to 1915.

If so, can anybody verify the dates of baptisms of the following:-

1). Mary Catherine Svombo - dau of Lazarus and Anastasia (Annie) Mazzei - born 12th August 1876 (according to birth certificate);

2). Frederick Rocco Bernardi - son of Rocco Bernardi and Mary Mazzei - born 21st May 1878 (according to birth certificate);

3). Annie Maria O'Keefe - dau of Timothy O'keefe and Florinda Mazzei - (I have received a transcription which states she was baptised on 15th Feb 1897 - but as she was born in January 1891, I was wondering if this was a typo and the baptism year was 1891, or if she was baptised late).

4). Bernard O'Keefe - son of Anastasia Ellen O'Keefe - (born early 1911 out of wedlock, but his mother died during childbirth - I was hoping the grandparents still had him baptised).

Hi Darin,

I'm hoping to go to the Glam archives office sometime this week - I've only been down there twice before but spent several hours looking up my family baptisms in St Peter's and St David's so know where to look! 

If no-one has replied before then, I'll see what I can find for you.

Hi again Deidre,

Whilst looking for the above, could you let me know if you come across any:-

Monaghan baptisms (children of Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei from 1903-1914);
 
or:

Carney baptisms (children of Patrick Carney and Elizabeth Mazzei (from 1906-1914)?

The former lived in Roath, so I am hoping they were baptised at St. Peter's, but the latter lived at Canton so I am doubtful, but it would save me having to re-post a request at a later date.

Looking for O'Keefe and Mazzei I found:
4/1/1882: Frederick O’KEEFE s/o Edward O’Keefe and Florinda Mazzi of 51 Diamond Street (St Peter’s)

Then, by accident, I found these at St Peter’s:
22/5/1872: Florinda Mary KEEFFE d/o Timothy Keeffe and Florinda Mazzei of 17 Ivor Street
5/10/1879: John KEEFFE s/o Timothy Keeffe and Florinda Mazzi of 51 Diamond Street
19/12/1883: Thomas KEEFFE s/o Timothy Keeffe and Florinda Mazzi of 33 Emerald Street
15/2/1891: Ann Mary KEEFFE d/o Edward Keeffe and Flora Mazzi of 10 Ruby Street

and these at St David’s:
18/9/1870: Mary Catherine KEEFFE d/o Timothy Keeffe and Florinda Mazzei of 17 Tredegar Street
29/11/1874: Timothy KEEFFE s/o Timothy Keeffe and Florida Mazzi of 17 Ivor Street
12/8/1877: Mary Ellen KEEFE d/o Timothy Keefe and Florence Mazzei of 17 Ivor Street

And a marriage at St Peter’s:
20/12/1869: Timothy O’KEEFFE and Florinda Mazzei (fathers Jeremiah O’Keeffe and Frederick Mazzei).

All above included in case you haven’t already got them.

MONAGHANS (Robert or Robert Joseph Monaghan and Rosina Mazzei):
1/4/03: Lilian Frances, 51 Diamond Street (mum Rosina Mazzea)
8/5/04: Austen James, 50 Topaz Street (listed as Monnaghan, mum as Rosa Mazzi)
27/5/05: Rosina, 50 Topaz Street
10/11/06: Catherine, 56 Topaz Street
15/2/09: Mary Irene, 56 Topaz Street
25/11/10: Mary, 56 Topaz Street
19/6/12: Mary Elizabeth, 56 Topaz Street

Didn't find any Carney/Mazzei baptisms in either church.

Timothy and Edward O'Keefe are the same person (he is called Timothy on some records and Edward on others that I have also).

I did wonder about Timothy and Edward, esp if you put the children in date order.   

Pleased that no 3 (Annie Maria O'Keefe) is sorted.
