Stephen Hanks c1781 Gloucestershire married Sarah (unkown) born c1781 Gloucestershire.

their kids are :

Job Hanks c1819 Winson died c1888 Upper Coscombe, married Jane Newman 21/1/1816 Eastleach Turville. They married 11/10/1840.

Martha Hanks c1821 Winson.

Ann Hanks c1825 Winson.

Giles Hanks c1826 Winson.


Job & Jane Hanks children are :

John Hanks c1842 Gt Rissington

Martha Hanks c1844 Gt R/Missington ? c1844 married George Akerman born 25/2/1846 Longborough. They married 13/7/1872

Stephen Hanks c1846 Black Bourton

Mary Ann Hanks c1849 Oddington, married John Clements born c1847 Evesham.

Thomas Hanks c1851 Maugersbury, married Sarah Habbits born c1847 Condicote, they married c1869

Ellen Hanks c1853 Bibury married Richard Greenhalf born c1853 Sudely Park.

Goerge Robert Hanks 19/5/1855 Winson, married Catherine Cooper born 16/5/1856, they married 13/11/1875.

Sarah Jane Hanks c1858 Bibury, married Edwin Kilby born c1854 Turkdean, they married in c1876.


I have familes for most of the married couples named above, and then they come down to my Nan, Louisa Vera Hanks born 12/10/1919 Cheltenham and died 20/7/2000 Cheltenham.

Do you want me to list the rest of the Hanks or can you see if there is a link or not between us with the names i have given.
Its not a problem if you need more names.

Many thanks indeed for these.

It will take a while for me to get the Hanks name lists to hand but, as soon as I do, I will be back in touch.

Certainly my Hanks came from Winson, Thomas Hanks was my grt grandfather and his father was Henry Hanks, though I know Henry was married several times.   The family names of Thomas and George appear in your list so it is likely, I think, that there is a link, once we can sort it out.

Hello.Just found this site. My greatgrandmother was Catherine Hanks (mentioned in a post some time ago, above). She married George Cooper in Chipping Norton. My grandmother was her daughter Theresa. It's quite surreal reading my family's names here!!

Hello,

I am researching the Hanks family and have only just found you.

I have George b 1855  son of Job and Jane  marrying Amy Pearson b 1849 Walmer in 1872 Cheltenham.  George died in 1888.  Wyndham their son born  1880
1881 census missing.
1891 Amy widow living 6 St George's Sq. Cheltenham
1901 Wyndham in Royal Navy at Sheerness Harbour.
1908 Married Alice Brazier b 1883 Droitwich -  Wandsworth
1909 Wyndham George
1911 Living 55 Daviesville Rd, Sherpherds  Bush,
1934 Wyndham George married Elsie Rudd  Rochford
1940 Patrick Wyndham b Worcester.  Still alive.

Do not know if the above is of any help.
