Vernon family
« on: Wednesday 13 June 12 10:49 BST (UK) »
I am new to this! I am wondering if anyone has knowledge/information of the VERNON family who resided in the Cheshire area (Over, Wharton) 1700-1780), names I have are AARON, son of MOSES & ELIZA. Thanks

Hello eunmar
I have checked several web sites for you, unfortunately unable to find anything for 1700 -1780; maybe another member will be able to help you  :).

I did however find a combination of these names much later in 1842 and 1844, not sure if they fit into your tree:

Parents: Aaron and Eliza Vernon

Charles Moses Vernon
bapt 04.02.1844
St Paul's, St Paul's Square, Liverpool

Emma Vernon
bapt 24.07.1842
St Paul's, St Paul's Square, Liverpool

Hello again eunmar

Just found this, same names you requested, but a later date.....

Aaron Vernon
bapt 20.02.1820
Over, Cheshire

Father: Moses Vernon
Mother: Ellen Vernon

Oops! just realised this is Ellen not Eliza, maybe a member of the same tree?

Hi! Many thanks for your reply and interest! I have my paperwork to hand now, and the info you have is correct, I have the same dob for Aaron he  married to Eliza Wells 8.8.1841, I know about Ellen but Charles is a new one to me, thanks. Moses and Ellen (Wormsley or Walmsley) were married in Manchester  30 12. 1814 and I have just discovered Bishops transcript re their marriage at Manchester cathedral, I have not been able to find any information on Ellen previous to this as yet.
Aaron Vernon was my Great Grandfather, my name was Vernon before I married, and incidentally my middle name is Martha!
I wonder if you have any connection to the Vernon's?

Hello eumar

Sorry no luck so far with Ellen Walmsley/Wormsley but found:

Aaron Vernon
bapt 22.04.1792
St Chad Over
Father: Thomas Vernon

Could Thomas Vernon be brother to Moses Vernon?

Will pm you.

The pm I sent to eumar was "personal" and was in connection with her question re the name "Martha".  I had nothing further to add to the Vernon family tree and the name Vernon does not appear on my tree.
I do realise the importance of adding information on the message board.

Does anyone have any ideas? Moses Vernon married Ellen Wormsley 30 December 1814 at Manchester Cathedral, I  cannot find any birth records for Ellen (have looked Walmsley too), no idea of her birthdate or location. i have image of transcript of marriage records, no clues there.
