Can someone help with establishing which George Arrowsmith b circa 1786 in Durham, possibly Barnard Casrtle area, was father of Aaron Arrowsmith b1812 in Barnard Castle, Durham. George married to Dinah Dent had five children, Ann, Elizabeth, Aaron and two others. Aaron married Sarah Waite and had two sons, James b1838 BCstl and Robert b1840 BCstl and Sarah died 1841/2 and Aaron died 1842/3 both sons went to love with Sarah's parents Robert + ? Waite. There are two George's in the area and I cannot establish which family George Arrowsmith belonged to. Any help appreciated.

Have you checked for wills for either George Arrowsmith?   They might shed light on family relationships.

Also, what about professions?  The George Arrowsmith on the 1841 (with ?daughter Ann and husband Thomas Gleghorn) is a joiner.  Have you looked for an apprenticeship papers, or a passing along of the trade from father to son?

It is possible she is Jane RICHARDSON, married Robert WAITE, 28 Dec 1816, Startforth, Yorks
A SARAH Waite was Christened 26 July 1818, Bowes, Yorks to a ROBERT/JANE

Have you looked at the Parish Record for Witnesses names?

Thank you for that. Not sure on how to look at probate records. Can you advise please? Still finding my way around various sites. Same applies to Parish records and am not sure of my way around them.
Of the George and Mary.. is this Mary Martindale?
Will check my records for Robert Waite and Jane Richardson and revert.
