1851- 61 lewisham lookup

hi
  i am trying to find the parents of charles vinten who married harriet knott in 1869 in lee he was 22 at the time and his father was a charles william vinten a soldier
                   any help please  ;) ;)

There is as yet no name index for Lewisham 1861, so the address would be needed (is it on the marriage certificate?). Alternatively Lewisham 1871 should be available so you could get some detail on the Vinten family from that. Given the father is a soldier, it is quite likely that they were elsewhere at previous censuses. 1871 would help indicate where the family were.

          thanks for your quick reply there is no address on the marriage cert. but a birth cert i have from 1873 gives 6 summerfield street lee
so i will look from there. i see from yor profile you are researching goulds in cornwall i live there and if i can be of any help just ask

       Thanks very much for your help the Charles looks to be the one I am looking for , the age  I have on his marriage cert. is 22 in 1869 so it looks close enough for a match ,and giving that his birth place is given as lee .

Just had a look at the page.
Address is 'Lee Green'

Elizabeth the mother is from Staffordshire, a Laundress.
Eliza the daughter was born Eltham, a Landress.
Charles is shown as born Eltham

There are some others in the household.

George Gibson, Inmate, Unm, 32, Labourer, b Surrey
George Wooler?, Inmate, Marr, 24, Labourer, b Sussex
Caroline Wooler, Inmate, 27, Laundress, b Keston? Kent
George Wooler, son, 10m b Eltham

Odd.

The other William, b Bromley is Footman.
   (to a Surgeon at St Thomas's Hospital)
