Death of Eliza Nunn/Walter

Hi again,

I'm looking as i'm completely baffled by the death of the person noted above.

She was born on 2/2/1847 in newington, and married Jesse Walter in 1874.

What I can't grasp is when She died. Jesse's death certificate (which I have) in 1918 - suggests it's been acknoleged by a "Lucy" Walter - but i'm not sure if it's even the same person.

Using the Free BMD's I had some that came up in the 1920's - but i'm not convinced. Does anyone know if a lucy/eliza/what the heck name was used on a death record around 1900-1935 (to cover all bases) for her?

Btw, he was a Coachman, but I don't know what she did.

Any help would be welcome

Have you followed her through the censuses? Is she on the 1911?
As a starting point this is them in 1881?

Alternatively is your Jesse the 31-yr old domestic coachman (born Farringdon Berks) in service in Marylebone in 1881?

This one has a father Elijah (according to the 1851 census of Farringdon, when Jesse was 11 months old) which matches the Jesse Walter/Eliza Nunn marriage details.

His age is right for the 68 yr old Jesse Walter who died in Paddington in 1918.

Yep, i got them - up to 1881 easily.

Jesse changed his name to Henry - hence how I found him in 1891.... living in paddington. After 1891 - until 1918 - im drawing a complete blank on Eliza, and his wereabouts - the only clue I ever had was from Jessie (Jesse's daughter) dying in January 1900 - and him appearing there.

Adding if anyone can find a census entry that matches Eliza and Jesse/Henry in 1901 or 1911 - would be doing me an enormous favour.....it's been doing my head in!

I don't know if Eliza died in the 1890s - or the 1920s - it's baffling as I haven't got any leads.

Jessie snr has now become Henry and is the same age as the 1881 census. He has also changed his birthplace.

Eliza's birth date 1851/1853

If she is inconsistent with her birthdate it will make it harder to find her death record.

Hi avm228. Does that image say unmarried for Jesse?  Rich's Jesse was married by then.

Alright we have the correct Jess(i)e/Henry.

No I can't find Eliza in the later censuses either as yet.

Have you tried to link a Lucy walter to Jesse/Henry?

Lucy Walter is a key - as that was what was put on the Death record - but I couldn't find anything that matched.

I had one (marylebone, 1892) and one in southwark in 1923 - but that's under eliza. moving onto lucy now....
