I am trying to find any information on James Moffat (shoemaker) family, from Annan.
James was born abt. 1798 in Annan. His parents were William Moffat (Blacksmith) and Christina Fraser. On James's death entry - May 1857 - he was a widower (no name). His son John was the informant.
This may be James Moffat's marriage, in the Carlisle Newspapers Marriage and Death Intimations 1812-1858:
22 Feb 1822 - Annan - James Moffat shoemaker to Janet Irving of Landhead Toll Bar.
Not been able to find a death for Janet Moffat (nee Irving). I don't know where to look, to find his son John's marriage/death.
Any information will be very much appreciated.
