Leyton(stone) grammar school???

Hi everyone. Is anyone here particularly clued up about Leyton/Leytonstone? After trying to work out for some time which grammar school my great-grandfather would have attended, I've just been told by an elderly relative that he went to Leyton (or Leytonstone) grammar school. This would have been in the 1870s/1880s. I have only done a few online searches so far, but I can't find any mention of a grammar school there from around this time. Does anyone know anything here that might help me to identify the name of the school, please?

The London borough of Waltham Forest archivists are likely to be most knowledgeable on Victorian schools in the area and the borough archives hold some school records.
