Euphemia Miller
« on: Thursday 05 July 12 20:59 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Apologies if I've posted this before but I can't find a trace of it.

I'm trying to locate the birth/baptism record for EUPHEMIA MILLER born Wigtown 1812? I know she married Thomas Marley and went on to live in Liverpool, but I'm now trying to locate who her parents were.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kev

Just an after thought..... :-\
Are you sure Euphemia was born in Wigtown, Wigtownshire in Scotland? There are quite a few Wigton's in the UK....off top of my head I think there is one in Cumberland and one in Wales although just checked on scotlands people and there are a handful of Euphemia Millers born around 1812.

Could she be under Phemie or Effie?

Hi All,

Many thanks for all your responses. I have a good trail for Euphemia as I know she married into the Marley family.
On the 1861 census it clearly states Euphemia, then a widow, aged 48, place of birth as Scotland, so not much doubt there. It will be a bit difficult if there are several people of this name born about this time.

I have her marriage record, but it does not show parents names at that time.

Best regards
Kev

1851 census does state County Wigton

OPR's have no baptism records for her in Wigtownshire

Most of the Miller/Millar baptisms at that time are in Stranraer

Hi Sancti,

I'll see if I can turn anything up from the Marley side of the family, but I rather doubt it. Thanks very much for your input.

Best regards

Kev

When and where did she marry?

Any Scottish Millers showing in the area on any census records?
