Has anyone have access please to electoral roll for West Street Dorking 1914-20  trying to establish if T.G.Meeten was residing there or if he was in the armed services. Thankyou. Eirwen.

What rank do you think T. G. Meeten would have held if he did serve during WWI. Only men with some means would have been on the Electoral Register prior to the Absent Voters' lists of 1918/9.

An example in my own genealogy from 1902. 1902: Thomas Francis Turner rents Bedroom and Sitting Room at 2 Queen's Parade, Annfield Plain, County Durham from Mrs (Jane Watson) Bowes (his Aunt), Widow of Thomas Bowes. On the Voter Registration only Thomas Francis Turner is enumerated. Not Thomas Bowes, he is dead. Not Jane Bowes, the owner of the house, she is a woman, and not Michael Bowes, Jane's son, who is living in the house free.

T.G.Meeten . Owned a motorcycle shop in West Streeet Dorking. Thinking that if he was there between 1814-18  then he had not enlisted. Why.

Hi, it looks as if you are researching T G Meeten. I own the last bike built by SOS and Tommy Meeten's personal bike. I'm interested in what you have found out about him. I have a small amount of information.M
