They usually at the local Archives for the area you are searching, there some on line but it depends where it is.

We need to know where and when, Ancestry only have a limited coverage, London, Electoral Registers, 1847-1965, and Dorset, Electoral Registers, 1839-1922. They also have UK, Poll Books and Electoral Registers, 1538-1893 of various localities.

 I am also a member of Ancestry and they only seem to list the registers from London. I was hoping to see some from Liverpool or Shropshire.

You might find this link helpful, I found my dad on the electoral rolls but that was for Warwickshire

That looks like an interesting website - I have got relatives from Cleobury Mortimer as well, and Hopton Wafers so I will have a closer look at that.
