Frederick Aaron walker
« on: Friday 13 July 12 11:22 BST (UK) »
I received a copy  of a competency certificate, for captain Frederick Aaron walker which said that he was born in Lynn Norfolk 1862.
I would like to obtain a birth  cert, but don't know  the name of his parents, found a Aaron walker in a home in grease hall 1871 census but I can't be sure they are the same person.

Samuel and Esther who are in the workhouse with the Aaron you have found in 1871 appear with parents Robert and Susan in 1861, so it looks as though you have the right Aaron.

Hi Rosie,
The marriage you found is correct Frederick Aaron to Sarah Ann Eldridge hull1884  and they give the father as George walker engine driver. They had 3 daughters in hull  1daughter and a son in Milford haven and  a son in Dublin Frederick died in Dublin 1936. Thank you for the research. After years of research I  may have found
Fredericks, birth place with a lot of help. But we do have a problem with, George as  father  engine driver.

I am not convinced his fathers name was George, it is quite possible he never knew what his fathers christian name was.   :-\

The christening I found earlier would mean he was part of this family living West Lexham in 1861

Robt Walker 36 Agricultural Labourer bn  West Lexham, Norfolk
Susan (Wife)  33  bn Litcham, Norfolk
William Son 15
Ann Dtr 13
Robt Son 11
Frances Dtr 9
Hannah Dtr 7
Elijah Son  5
Samuel Son  3
Esther Dtr 1
Children all bn West Lexham, Norfolk

I wonder if this is his birth certificate
March qtr 1862 -WALKER  Fredder Ann     Mitford reg district  -
Maybe when it was indexed they couldn't read the entry properly ::)
It looks as though they were registering the younger childrens births.

There is a tree on ancestry that has Frederick Aaron Walker  son  of Robert and Susan but they have killed him off in 1862.  there was a birth reg for Mitford RD the same qtr as the Fredder Ann for a Frederick, he died the same qtr.  If that other birth cert is Frederick Aaron then they have it wrong (not unusual on Anc trees I'm afraid, though I must admit the rest of the tree looks good. )  They also have Robert and Susan as dying in 1868(Robert) and 1867(Susan)
Death March qtr 1868   Walker  Robert  age 45  Mitford  4b 206
Death Dec qtr 1867  Walker  Susan  age 41  Mitford  4b 191

I would suggest ordering the 'Fredder Ann' birth certificate and stipulating that the parents were Robert and Susan.
This Frederick Aaron would probably have no idea what his parents names were as they died when he was so young. He probably 'plucked' the name George out as it was also his father in laws christian name.

Hi Rosie, I have just received the birth certificate for Fredder Ann Walker to day.
I was unable to stipulate that his parents were  Robert and Susan as there was no provision on the request form on line.
However details on the certificate are  twenty fourth of February  1862 west lexham Fredder  Aron with one a Walker.Parents  Robert and Susan nee  Edwards.
When registered  twenty first of march Susan used a mark for her signature.
I would like to see the cert of the other Frederick to see who his parents were.
Paul.

That was quick  ;D

At least it gives the middle name as Aron which isn't that common. It certainly looks to me like the right one.   The other Frederick bn Mitford around the same time died the same qtr.  :(
