I wonder can someone please translate the address "TY SHON HOWELL" where an ancestor named Howell resided on the 1841 census.
anything and everything to do with the village of Brithdir, near New Tredegar in Gwent.

Ty translates to house
Shon  is a version of Sion,  the Welsh for John
Howell  a surname
So it could be
Shon Howell's house or John Howell's House
